Nigerian-born MMA star Israel Adesanya is aiming to reassert his dominance ahead of his highly anticipated return to the octagon against Joe Pyfer at UFC Seattle on March 28 at the Climate Pledge Arena.

High-Stakes Return

The bout is being billed as one of the most significant fights of Adesanya’s career, coming at a crucial point for the 36-year-old former middleweight champion.

Difficult Run

Adesanya has endured a challenging run, losing three of his last four fights and remaining out of action for over a year following a knockout defeat to Nassourdine Imavov in February 2025. The setback extended his winless streak since his 2023 knockout victory over Alex Pereira.

Now, the ‘Last Stylebender’ is focused on ending that run and proving he still belongs at the top of the middleweight division.

“I Feel Unstoppable”

Speaking ahead of the fight, Adesanya described the clash with Pyfer as deeply personal and potentially career-defining.

“I always feel like I have something to prove. What I want to do in this fight is make people go, ‘He’s the GOAT.’ I want people to realise he’s that good even after a year off, after he’s down three fights in a skid. I feel unstoppable,” he said.

Evolved Skillset

The former champion also hinted at a more dynamic and evolved approach inside the octagon, promising to unveil new dimensions to his fighting style.

“I feel like people haven’t seen my full array of skills yet. I just want to show off a lot of skills that I haven’t shown off yet. You’ll see me do things I’ve never done before because I feel like they’ll be presented to me,” he added.
