Edo Dynamos are currently leading the female teams with eight points with a goal difference of +18 at the ongoing National Handball tournament in Makurdi, the Benue capital.
A Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team beat Benue Queens, Abuja-based COAS Babes, Safety Babes and the Defender Babes also of Abuja to achieve the height on Saturday.
The Dynamos are closely followed by the defending champions, the Safety Babes, who have 6 points and a goal difference of +26.
The Safety Babes got to that position by beating Benue Queens, COAS Babes and lost to Edo Dynamos.
The FRSC team also called Defender Babes defeated Benue Queens and Taraba Peace and COAS Babes to grab 6 vital points.
COAS Babes are trailing behind Defender Babes with 2 points and goal deficiency of 16 (-16)
The team managed a lone victory over Rising Stars of Abuja to grab the points.
Also with 2 points are the Benue Queens whose lone victory is over the weeping team of the tournament, the COAS Babes, who are next to the bottom of the table.
They also have a goal deficiency of -7.
Clutching the bottom of the table is the Rising Stars with no victory and goal deficiency of minus -41.
Earlier on Saturday, Edo Dynamos reasserted their dominance of handball by defeating Benue Queens 21-20, Rising Stars lost to Safety Babes 12-38, while the Defender Babes walloped COAS Babes 28-20.
The quarter-final matches for the male category will be played later on Saturday at the Aper Aku Stadium. (NAN)
