A Canada-based Nigerian doctor, Arinze Onwumelu, has urged singer Portable to undergo a brain scan following his defeat in the celebrity boxing match ‘Chaos in the Ring 4’ against skit maker Carter Efe.
The bout, held in Lagos on May 1, drew attention from fans and celebrities and generated buzz on social media, with the ‘Zazuu’ crooner coming out on the losing end.

In a viral post and video, Onwumelu, popularly known as Dr Zo, advised that Portable should undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to assess any potential internal injuries sustained during the fight.
According to him, Carter Efe landed multiple blows to sensitive areas of Portable’s head, raising concerns about the risk of a subdural haematoma, a serious brain injury.
“This is an exhibition match meant for entertainment, not a real fight to harm anyone. The contenders are not expected to fight to that extent,” he said.
“Or does it mean Efe didn’t get the memo or wasn’t properly informed? I watched the whole video — the kind of punches he delivered, Portable may never recover from them.
“Anybody who knows Portable should take him to the hospital for an MRI and brain tests; there may be an artery that might have been damaged.”
The doctor also advised organisers of such events to make helmets mandatory to reduce the risk of serious head trauma.
Ahead of the fight, Portable had expressed confidence in his fitness and readiness to defeat Efe, having previously knocked out rapper Speed Darlington and actor Charles Okocha in similar celebrity boxing contests.
