Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, Group CEO of Balmoral Group and promoter of Chaos in the Ring, has outlined an ambitious plan to transform Nigeria’s boxing industry into a major economic driver.

With a flagship event set for May 1, 2026, Adamu said the vision extends far beyond fight night, positioning the platform as part of a broader experiential and cultural economy.

He revealed long-term plans to build a scalable business capable of attracting global partnerships and eventually accessing public markets.

“We are building towards becoming one of Africa’s leading experiential platforms,” Adamu said. “The goal is to create a large-scale business that can eventually be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and expanded across multiple African markets.”

Global Reach and Strategic Partnerships

Adamu emphasised that the initiative is designed to connect African boxing talent with global visibility and monetisation opportunities, leveraging international broadcast partnerships.

Adamu pointed to the event’s growing global footprint through DAZN and its collaboration with former world champion Amir Khan as proof that Lagos is emerging as a key hub for boxing in Africa. The franchise, he noted, has already generated tens of millions of impressions worldwide.

Fight Card with Purpose

Central to the upcoming card is a WBO All-Africa cruiserweight title clash between Ezra Arenyeka and Godday Appah, described as a “Peace Fight” aimed at easing tensions between the Ijaw and Itsekiri communities in the Niger Delta.

“We don’t want to fight with weapons anymore. We want to settle the score in the ring,” Adamu said, adding that the winner will be named a Peace Ambassador for the region.

Rising Talent and Global Pathways

The event will also feature teenage prospect Raheem Animashaun (19-0, 12 KOs), who faces Tanzania’s Emmanuel Amos.

Other bouts include Ghana’s Elvis Ahorgah against Joe Laws, Michael McKinson versus Algeria’s Mohammad Sahnoun, Rasheed Adeyemo against Nicolaus Mdoe, and Samuel Antwi facing Paul Kamanga.

Entertainment Meets Regulation

A celebrity bout between musicians Portable and Carter Efe will add entertainment value, with Nigeria Boxing Board of Control president Dr. Rafiu Ladipo confirming that all participants will undergo mandatory medical checks.

Boxing as an Economic Engine

Adamu stressed that Chaos in the Ring is about more than boxing, highlighting its economic impact across hospitality, logistics, media, and digital distribution.

“Every event activates multiple layers of the economy. If delivered consistently, this becomes a major platform,” he said.
