Carlo Ancelotti is set to receive a four-year contract extension as head coach of Brazil, keeping him in charge through to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced on Thursday.
The former Real Madrid manager took over the Brazilian national team last year and has since guided the five-time world champions to qualification for next month’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The 66-year-old Italian has been in talks with the CBF for several months over an extension to his current agreement, with negotiations now nearing completion.
CBF president Samir Xaud said he is “certain” the new contract will be officially confirmed before the start of the World Cup.
Speaking at the FutPro Expo conference in Fortaleza, Xaud revealed that the federation and Ancelotti’s legal representatives were finalising details of the deal.
Ancelotti has repeatedly stated his desire to remain in charge of Brazil beyond this year’s tournament.
He is expected to announce his final World Cup squad on May 18 in Rio de Janeiro before Brazil play a World Cup farewell match against Panama at the Maracana Stadium on May 31.
Brazil enter the World Cup as one of the heavy favourites, drawn into Group C alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
With his future now effectively secured through 2030, Ancelotti’s focus turns entirely to securing Brazil’s sixth star this summer.
