Following elections held on Thursday, March 16, Ahmad Ahmad, Chairman, Madagascar FA, has been elected as the new President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The elections were held as  a secret ballot amongst 53 out of the 54 member associations of the federation.

He succeeds Issa Hayatou who has headed the confederation for nearly three decades winning by a slim margin of 34 to 30 votes.
