The victory of Nigerian Female Football team over their Cameroonian counterparts on Dec. 3 has been ascribed to the resilience and indomitable spirit of Nigerians.
Prince Eze Madumere, Imo Deputy Governor, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria while reacting to the victory.
Madumere, while congratulating the Falcons on its 8th victory as Africa’s women champions, the deputy governor said that they were outstandingly better than the Cameroonians.
‘’The victory was indomitable spirit of Nigerians on display. The ladies showed skills, tact and above all played with focus.
‘’I must commend them for team spirit and for the synergy with which they played; I therefore congratulate the Falcons and Nigerians at large,’’ he said.
Madumere, who noted that Nigeria was country blessed with abundant human and natural resources, said that defeat of Cameroon even on its soil was a demonstration of Nigeria’s superiority.
According to him, the Falcons have given us something to celebrate having become the 8th African champions by defeating dreaded Cameroon.
The deputy governor however called on Nigerians to continue to support the Falcons and other Nigerian teams.
He said that the country’s sports men and women had always represented the nation well in terms of international competitions. (NAN)
