Owerri, Nigeria – August 18, 2025

Signal Alliance Technology Holding (SATH), through its corporate social responsibility arm, the SATH Foundation, has officially launched the AI Experience Center at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), a strategic initiative designed to empower Africa’s next generation through digital learning, research, and innovation.

Unveiled under the theme “Experience AI. Imagine More,” the Center introduces students and faculty to a dynamic, hands-on environment where artificial intelligence serves as a tool for practical problem-solving, academic exploration, and skill development.

As part of this groundbreaking initiative, SATH is investing $300,000 over five years to support the Center’s long-term operations, expand its learning infrastructure, and strengthen AI capacity across disciplines within the university.

The launch featured an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the facility, and live demonstrations showcasing how AI can be applied within an academic setting. Guests witnessed firsthand how the Center enables students to interact directly with AI-powered tools.

“This initiative brings AI out of theory and into application,” said Collins Onuegbu, Chairman of SATH. “It creates a space where students can build, test, and deploy intelligent systems, not in the future, but right now.”

Built to support project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adaptive instruction, the Center serves as a platform for students to engage directly with advanced technology, helping to close the gap between academic knowledge and industry-ready skills.

“This partnership with SATH is a strong example of how academia and industry can collaborate for meaningful impact,” said Professor Emeka Oguzie, Deputy Vice Chancellor of FUTO. “We’re not just adding infrastructure, we’re expanding access to the future.”

The AI Experience Center at FUTO now stands as a model for how industry-academia collaboration can fast-track innovation in Africa’s education sector, proving that the future of innovation in Nigeria begins in the classroom.
