Moved by the mission to guarantee quality health care delivery for the residents and visitors across 20 local government councils of the state, especially cases of emergencies and health interventions in rural communities, the Ogun state government has concluded arrangements to launch mobile clinic stationed at strategic locations.
The launching of mobile clinic by the State Ministry of Health is coming against the backdrop of medical interventions and arrangements targeted against cases of man-made and natural disasters requiring quick and effective clinical attention as well as provision of sound health care delivery system in all the rural communities, particularly remote rural areas in the state.
Speaking on government’s plans to launch mobile clinic during the kick-off ceremony of 2016 Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) in Ifo Local Government area, Babatunde Ipaye, Ogun State Commissioner for Health, disclosed that efforts were in the top gear to bring quality health care service delivery to the doorsteps of the people through mobile clinic services.
While stating that two health centres in addition to Ifo General Hospital would be renovated and equipped in the local government for optimal performance, he added that Community-Based Health Insurance Scheme (CBHIS), tagged, ‘’Araya’’ would be re-launched in the council area in order for the people to benefit from health campaign programme of the state.
Earlier, Lukman Kiadese, Chairman Caretaker Committee, Ifo Local Government noted that the Local Council is one of the largest LGAs in the state with and therefore, requires more health facilities to cater for the increasing population, saying the immunization programme and other health schemes provided by government would add value to general health status of the people.
He further called for more partnership with the State government towards bringing more developmental programmes on health care to the Local Government for the benefit of the people, adding that the mobile clinic proposed by the State government would go a long way in the provision of good health care services to the needy, especially cases of emergencies.
Also, the Olu of Ifo, Oba Samuel Oladipupo, represented by Lawal Adebeshin, appreciated the gesture and efforts of State government towards making quality health care services accessible to the people in the State and Ifo Local Government in particular, just as he urged mothers in the council area to take advantage of the programme by making their children available for the immunization exercise.
