As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, visited Orimedu Health centre, in Epe, Lagos, where it donated some units of the recently launched LG Anti-mosquito air conditioners and Malaria drugs to the hospital.
The brand which has received accolades from Nigerian consumers for having consumers at heart when introducing cutting edge technological products, embarked on this gesture aimed at enhancing health care and fighting the malaria scourge, which happens to be the biggest killer of pregnant women and children under the age of 5 in Nigeria.
Representatives of LG Electronics interacted with members of the community as well as the hospital management team. The donated items are expected to meet the needs of the hospital in their quest to provide people in the locality with quality healthcare.
“This visit, which is a part of LG Electronics’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of indigenes in Orimedu community,” said Junhwa Jeong, general manager, Air Conditioning and Energy Solutions, LG Electronics, in his message to the Hospital management.
Speaking further, he said: “We maintain a long-term perspective in relation to our Corporate Identity by providing “Good Life” to the Nigerian people as well as engaging the society on a significant level, with a view to empowering and developing the communities we operate in. Despite global economic recession, we have remained focused and shown leadership by tackling key issues that are of concern to our stakeholders and society at large.”
Also speaking at the event, Mohammed Fouani, managing director of Fouani Nigeria Limited, said: “We know that healthcare can be expensive, especially to the common man. We are doing this to support the efforts by the hospital to help the patients receive proper care regardless of their financial positions.”
