Governors Forum rates Ondo leading state in immunisation campaign

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum Wednesday night rated Ondo State the best performing state in the campaign for the eradication of polio in the country.

The governors at the end of their fourth meeting of the year at Rivers State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, also announced best performing states in each six geo-political zones in the country.

Contrary to expectation, the simmering leadership crisis within the forum did not come up for discussion and many governors shied from commenting on the issue but there was cordiality among all the present governors.

Chairman of the forum, Rotimi Amaechi and governor of Rivers State listed Cross River as best performing state from South-South; Kogi, North Central; Anambra, South East; Borno, North East and Zamfara, North West.

Amaechi, in a communiqué he read at the end of the all night meeting, said Niger State was considered as the most improved state in the campaign to eradicate polio in the country.
