‘Vision, well thought-out plan key to business success’

Contrary to the belief that finance is a major consideration in business start-up, Tunde Makun, life and business coach at Purpose, Power and Lifestyle Design (PPLD) International Limited, has said clear vision and well thought-out plan are pre-eminent.

Makun, who spoke with BusinessDay, said many people go to their graves with their dreams unrealised because they lack the wisdom to drive their dreams.

“Funding does not come first, it does not come second and it does not come third. You must concern yourself with what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Money chases ideas and not the other way round. When I started my business, I knew that money was not going to be a handicap,” Makun said.

The business coach, who said his organisation was out to do things differently, explained that the aim of PPLD was to change the way people think, their attitude and actions which unfortunately impact negatively on their businesses.

“The human system is made up of the super conscious, the conscious and the subconscious. People concentrate on the conscious- what they want to be, where they want to be and all that, but the subconscious, which has been corrupted is where the problem lies. That is where your thought, action, attitude, emotion etc are concentrated, and once you get them (your thought process) correctly, you are on the way to success; and that is what we are emphasising in our training,” he said.

Makun also said that PPLD would hold its first certified intensive training tagged “T3” from yesterday (May 13 – 25) at its training centre in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. According to him, the training for potential trainers is specifically designed for success driven individuals who truly desire to distinguish themselves in their businesses, careers and lives. It would have renowned leadership and management training expert and CEO of Aware Consulting Services Texas, USA, Lee Follender as guest trainer.
