Discover your skills & talents for a more successful 2016

Every individual who want to continue living and still be relevant as well as having a purpose in life should care about how to be a better person as we enter into 2016. Every new year as we all know, goes with fresh life activities.

Some adults keep telling me that it is too late to start exploring their skills/Talents in life and i keep asking them where they get this self depreciating/killing idea from.  This also goes a long way to show that such people who feel they are old to start new career/business life actually do not understand exactly what skills/talents discovery is all about.  Your Talents are already inside of you from birth but hidden till you explore and unleash them. Same with skills though you can still acquire new skills if you desire through training.

When people come to me for training on how to follow and use their talents and skills to excel in areas of chosen career/business, there is always this fear hidden at one corner of their mind ticking like a time bomb and this fear of exploration hinders them from making a headway if allowed to go on. Ofcourse the first thing i do when ever i start my Coaching sessions especially with individuals who come on one-on-one is to detonate that inner time bomb fear of how they are going to handle their future.   Fear for the future can make a man/woman with lion heart melt before a pigeon.  Once you have this fear/doubt of questions that fills with too many—‘’ifs’’ you will find it difficult to make progress in life not just in business and career but in all aspects of your life.

Listen my dear folks, if you are living in Nigeria/Ghana at this present age, and still want to have a good life for yourself and people you love, you must learn how to make use of your talents and skills to create jobs for your self and others so you can survive. In Nigeria for example, the hardly enough 18,000 minimium wage approved sometime is on a heated debate by Governors if they are going to continue with it. Can you believe this insanity? In the first place, is the 18,000 enough? What exactly can such a meagre amount do for families living in Nigeria? As if this is not bad enough, they are now trying to reduce it. Total madness in this country if you ask me.  Ok…so what will it be? Who ever came up with this insane suggestion anyway?

So for those of you who are under this category, you can imagine what your standard of living is going to be. I personally feel that the Economic condition in Nigeria will be more ruthless in 2016 so, those who want to survive must find alternative ways to make ends meet.

There are lots of people in this country with fantastic talents and skills hidden waiting to be exposed. Most people keep having all kinds of ideas running in their brain but putting them to use turns out to be a problem and this is where professional caoching comes in. Sadly Nigerians hardly attend business seminars so where will they learn how to unleash their talents and skills?  I have said it here several times that if you listen to business shows on radio /Tv you will know how selfish most Nigerians are in exploring their talents and skills.  They know what they want but would rather not want to spend any money no matter how cheap the seminar/workship cost.  They would love to tear the resource persons with questions and kinds of remedies on how to succeed in their business and career. You cannot get full details of growing a business/career by listening to a 1hr radio or Tv shows. Those of us who participate in this radio.Tv shows also know how to handle giving out all information..abi?  The resource person/business coach you expect to give you everything free spent years and years of study/experiment/research/lots of money to learn/train to equip his/her intellectual capacity.  This same resource person also have bills and responsibilities just like you to take care of.  Duh!!!

So for those who want to have a positive economic empowerment turn around in 2016, this is your time to start.  It does not matter how old you are. As long as you are strong to walk/drive around, have the energy to visit and talk to people around you, there is good hope for you to start something new with the talents and skills you have.

The good thing about using your talents and skills to earn a living is that, you will so much love what you do. It will be so easy to do because the abilities come within you. You are not forcing or trying to hard to do the work. You will also open channels for more new ideas as you make progress in what ever business you get involve in. Because the people who will be reading this particular article have different talents and skills, there is no way i can know what yours is unless i meet and interract with you but my focus today is to make you understand that, you cannot go wrong exploring and using your talents and skills to make money.  The first step is to get help to discover what those talents and skills are. The second step is how to put them to use step by step. So you now see why we always use the word-‘coaching/training’.  You will have to undergo some kind of coaching sessions to unravel all these. The good thing is that coaching can be done with various means of your favourite online tool(for those who can’t see me personally in Abuja where i am based). So if you really want to explore your skills and talents, and want to boost your income in 2016, you have no excuse not to do so. The job market is very dry in Nigeria , the Government cannot do much for you so your best option is to create a job for your self.

In my women empowerment outreach for this Christmas, i and my team are distributing FOODSTUFF Donations to poor Single Mothers so they can share the love of Christmas with us.
