Avila, Dangote, others make first AfCFTA Nigeria’s shipment

Avila Naturalle Limited, a leading Nigerian manufacturer of natural beauty and wellness products alongside other companies participated in Nigeria’s inaugural shipment to Kenya under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

Alongside Dangote, FlourMills and seven other companies, the beauty company was chosen for AfCFTA implementation, which aims to promote intra-African trade and economic integration.

“We are honoured and excited to be part of this historic moment in the development of trade in Africa,” said George Akume, secretary to the Government of the Federation, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Our participation in this shipment demonstrates our dedication to expanding our reach and sharing our natural and sustainable products with a wider audience across Africa.”

He said the initiative would revolutionise the continent’s economic landscape in line with the renewed hope agenda of his administration which is centred around economic development and the people.

Temitope Mayegun, CEO of Avila Naturalle Limited said the country’s inaugural shipping through the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative is a significant milestone both for Avila Naturalle and Nigeria.

“We are honoured and excited to be part of this historic moment in the development of trade in Africa,” she said.

“Our participation in this shipment demonstrates our dedication to expanding our reach and sharing our natural and sustainable products with a wider audience across Africa.”

Mayegun added: “With this inaugural shipping, Avila Naturalle aims to penetrate the African continental market expansively through our extensive distribution network and collaboration with new international sales partners.”

“We are embarking on what I will describe as an exciting new chapter, redefining the natural skincare terrain as part of our strategic business direction that emphasizes productivity and international expansion.”

The initial shipment, which includes a range of Avila Naturalle’s popular products, is expected to arrive in Kenya within the next few weeks.

This development is expected to strengthen trade relations between Nigeria and Kenya, according to the beauty company, and pave the way for increased economic cooperation between both nations and subsequently across Africa.
