The Lagos State government has reduced the state’s housing deficit estimated at 3million units with the inauguration, this afternoon, of a 492-estate by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu.
The housing estate, which has 41 blocks comprising 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, is located in Igando area of the state, off LASU Road.
The estate, formerly known as Igando Gardens, is now called Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande Gardens, Igando.
The project was initiated and supervised by the New Town Development Authority (NTDA) before being transferred to the state ministry of housing in January 2017.
Infrastructure facilities in the estate include well constructed roads network and drains, ample car parks, external electrification that is connected to the national grid, sewage treatment plant, and dedicated mini water works.
The housing estate is a well planned settlement which consists of other ancilliary structures such as a multipurpose community hall, laundumats and sports complex.
The estate is tastefully landscaped, giving it a beautiful and endearing appeal.
