Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe as the Acting Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Until his appointment, Mallumbe was the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS I) to the Governor.

This appointment was conveyed in a statement signed Bukar Tijani, Secretary to the Borno State Government, to Journalists in Maiduguri

Zulum has also approved the posting and allocation of portfolios to the 10 newly sworn-in commissioners.

The postings are aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating the implementation of the administration’s 25-year Development Plan and 10-year Strategic Transformation Initiatives.

The portfolios are as released, including Hauwa Abubakar – Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Bukar Mustapha Dalatu – Commissioner of Budget and Planning; Lawan Abba Wakilbe – Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Umar Lawan Dalorima – Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development.

Others include: Baba Mallam Gana – Commissioner of Health and Human Services; Usman A. Tar – Commissioner of Information and Internal Security; Sugun Mai Mele – Commissioner of Local Government and Emirate Affairs; Aliyu Mohammed Lawan Buba – Commissioner of Transport and Energy; Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo – Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development; and Saina Buba – Commissioner of Youths, Sports, and Poverty Alleviation.

The statement adds that all commissioners are expected to take over the affairs of their ministries with effect from immediately.
