Zango, Magaji sworn in as new House of Reps members

Reps to probe $11bn P&ID contract scam

The House of Representatives on Wednesday swore in two new lawmakers from Adamawa State into the lower chamber.

They are Abubakar Baba Zango representing Yola North/South and Girei Federal constituency along with Hon Jafar Abubakar Magaji, representing Mubi South/North and Maiha Federal constituency.

Jafar Abubakar Magaji, replaces Hon. Jingi Rufai while Abubakar Baba Zango replaces Mohammed Salihu.

Aknon Appeal court sitting in Abuja has sacked Jingi Rufai of People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate at the 2023 National Assembly election the House of Representatives, while declaring Jaafar Magaji of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the election for the constituency & ordered INEC to issue him with a certificate of return.

Also, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Wednesday, set aside the judgment of the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, which had affirmed Mohammed Salihu based on certificate forgery allegations, especially in the area of name variation.
