Sani Shinkafi, a Senatorial Aspirant for Zamfara North, has criticised the quality of representation in the district, describing it as inadequate and unbalanced over the years.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday after obtaining his All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms, Shinkafi said the zone has experienced decades of political marginalisation.
According to him, from 1999 to date, power has largely remained within the Anka/Maru (Kaura Namoda axis), leaving other local governments including Shinkafi, Birnin Magaji, and Zurmi.

He lamented what he described as poor legislative performance, noting that fewer than 10 bills have been sponsored by representatives of the district in nearly three decades.
He also decried the absence of meaningful federal projects, especially when compared to other senatorial zones with visible development, saying this is the time to change the narrative.
