Umahi’s exit: PDP constitutes caretaker committee for Ebonyi

PDP mocks APC over botched membership Drive

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a state caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party in Ebonyi State.

This followed Tuesday night dissolution of the State Executive Committee of the party by the NWC.

The dissolution might not be unconnected with the Tuesday exit of the Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi, from the party.

According to a statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the seven-member caretaker committee is chaired by Fred Udeogu with Luke Nkwegu, a lawyer, as secretary.

Other members are Gideon Osi (Publicity Secretary), James Alaka (Organizing Secretary), Amaka Igboke (Women Leader), Mudi Irenede (Legal Adviser) and one Ibeshi as Youth Leader.

The statement said, “The decision of the NWC in this regard is pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

“All our leaders, members and teeming supporters in Ebonyi state and the southeast are by this guided accordingly.”
