Sanwo-Olu wins Lagos APC guber primary

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won the governorship primary election of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to fly the party’s flag in next year’s governorship election in the State.

The governor was declared winner of the primary election held at the Onikan Stadium on Thursday by Adamu Shetima Yuguda, Chairman, Lagos State Primary Election Committee.

Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 1,170 votes out of a total of 1,198 accredited voters from across the State.

Earlier, the committee had disqualified two other aspirants – former Commissioner of Energy, Wale Oluwo and former Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Energy, Mustapha Olorunfemi.

There wide jubilation across the stadium the moment the governor was declared winner of the primary election.

Since they had been disqualified the other two contestants, Oluwo and Mustapha were not present at the stadium during the election.
