PDP aspirant begins consultation with stakeholders, unfolds vision for Anambra

Winston Udeh, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) frontline aspirant and leading contender for Anambra state government house on Nov. 6 gubernatorial poll has begun full consultations with the party stakeholders in the state.

Udeh started with town hall and grassroots engagement events at the early stage of his consultations in all the 21 local government areas of the state.

This was followed by meetings with prominent stakeholders in the north, central and south Senatorial districts over the past months to share his vision to move the state back to positive development.

Others are religious leaders, youth leaders, women leaders, secretaries, vice-chairmen and chairmen of the party from wards, local and state governments, some of who have been neglected for so long.

While revealing his plans as he unveiled his manifesto to the PDP stakeholders, officials, and stalwarts at several fora, Udeh said he is desired to run an all-inclusive government for the development of the state in all sectors.

The guber aspirant at each meeting unveiled his 7-point manifesto agenda, on human capital development, education, healthcare, agriculture, law and order, security and environment.

He said he had the capacity and capability to lead the state to boost the number “A” state and “Light of the Nation” to enviable height if given the mandate.

“I will not fail with your collective will and support if voted into power, thus, I am a team player in this business, even if I did not win the primary, but I am sure, ready and have assiduously worked hard for it.

“I am a dedicated and promise keeper. I will not disappoint you if you support me to clinch the PDP ticket, and with it, together, to win the guber election on Nov. 6 to bring the state back to glory.

“I have vast experience and capability for infrastructural development, finance management, law, philanthropy, and community development needed for the development of the state” Udeh said.

The man with a degree in architecture and a post-graduate degree in law from reputable Universities assured quality leadership to touch the life of everyone in the state positively.

Speaking with the youths, the seasoned lawyer and astute businessman shared his plans for the youths enshrined on vocational institutions for skills acquisition, technology hub, subsidised tuition for higher education and job creation.

Others are partnership with international agencies and private sectors to build more industries and sports development through the creation of sports academies.

“I don’t intend to stop helping our youths get employment; I am not going to stop giving our children scholarships. Also let me tell you, all of us aspiring for this position are friends. We eat and drink together, so you don’t have to fight among yourselves because of this election.

“This election is about you; it’s about your welfare, your health, education for your children, employment for you and your children, ease of doing business, security of your lives.

“Awka and the environs will be developed into a befitting state capital worthy of our state. We will invest in developing our tourism and attraction centres within the state capital and other places around the zone,” he said.

According to him, PDP must avoid the bickering and disunity that has bedeviled the party for the past 16 years.

“We have to take more proactive steps if we are to wrestle power from the incumbent ruling party.

“PDP has tried the same methods in the past and look where they brought us. The forthcoming election presents a fresh opportunity for us to try something new, something different to obtain a different result,” Udeh said.
