In a last bid to ensure that Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, the anointed candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, emerged victorious, the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and APC serving and former governors stormed the National Assembly Tuesday.
Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State governor led Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Abdulrahman Abdulrazak for Kwara State; Abdullahi Sule for Nasarawa State, and Aminu Masari for Katsina State, into the Senate Chambers where voting is ongoing.
The former governors are Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, Kashim Shettima of Borno State, among other APC chieftains.
The APC high command and governors are also been expected in the House of Representatives Chambers when inauguration and election will commence soon after the exercise in the Senate.
