LP appoints Ngogbehai, Elumelu, Ismaila, others to oversee ‘Obidient’ Directorate

.. Set to integrate ‘Obidient’ into party structures

The Labour Party LP on Thursday, announced the appointment of a Directorate to oversee activities of OBIDIENTS in the party headed by Marcel Ngogbehei.

The OBIDIENTS, form over 80 percent of the party members and are made of youths

Other members of the Directorate according to a statement by Obiora Ifoh, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, include Aju Elumelu, who will serve as Deputy Director, (Diaspora)

Others include Mariam Ismaila, Chukwuemeka Okafor, Angel Innocent, Tony Ashekomeh Jnr, Emeka Ezechi and Josiah Omenuwoma, all Deputy Directors.

The statement noted that the moves are part of efforts aimed at integrating millions of the party’s youths particularly, the OBIDIENT family into the larger family of the Labour Party.

It also noted that the Directorate will have as part of its terms of reference, the coordination of” registration of all members of the OBIDIENT community and integrate them fully into the structure of the party”

The Directorate is also responsible for easing the participation of members of the party in the Diaspora in the affairs of the party.

They are also to receive complaints and deal with the same; where they cannot deal with same, refer such complaints to the party’s leadership.

The Directorate which will be inaugurated at the party headquarters at Utako, Abuja on Thursday, June 6, will also coordinate the collection of dues and donations to the party and to ensure that all OBIDIENTS are financial members of the party.

The Directorate will work closely with the National Youth Leader, National Women Leader, and National Organizing Secretary to create programs that will fully and effectively assimilate all members of the OBIDIENT family into the party.
