Senate President, Bukola Saraki has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to constitute an independent panel to investigate the invasion of the National Assembly by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) last week.
Reacting on his micro-blogging site, Twitter handle, on Tuesday, Saraki said the Presidency should constitute an investigative panel that will be independent and not avowed to show loyalty to any part.
He described the siege as an assault on democracy.
In a tweet on his personal @bukolasaraki handle, Saraki said: “The very serious questions about last Tuesday’s siege on the National Assembly can only be answered through a thorough and neutral investigation. I call on Mr. President to immediately institute an independent judicial panel of inquiry to look into that assault on our democracy.”
