Federal lawmaker urges constituency against political gangup

Federal House of Representatives Member representing Katsina Ala, Ukum and Logo Federal Constituency, Emmanuel Udende expressed gratitude to his supporters and urged them to reject political gangup.
“I appreciate Ucha people for always standing by me in all the elections I have contested, I urge you all to extend such to other people”, he stated.
The federal lawmaker expressed his gratitude at Afia car park in Afia of Ukum local government area of Benue state during a maiden Annual festival organised by his constituents which was aimed at fostering peace, unity and progress towards sustainable development in the constituency.
He said, “Ucha people have never disapointed me in the past, today I want to introduce to you my bossom friend Benjamin Ashaver, who has always been with me. Let’s support him to represent Ukum at the Benue State House of Assembly. We must avoid political godfathers who sponsor weak candidates that will be answerable to their selfish interest. We must collectively reject their evil plans against us.” Udende admonished. The Ucha People comprising Tsaav  Lumbuv, in Ukum and Wukari Local Government both in Benue and Taraba States were part of the celebration.
Speaking, the initiator of the festival and immediate past Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour matters, Boga Abuul said they have put the event together to always meet once in a year, not just to celebrate, but to think together as a people and collectively address critical issues affecting the unity, progress and development of Ucha, Ukum and Sankera in general.
According to the Former NLC Chairman, the occasion is not political as both Religious and cultural groups,  PDP, APC, SDP and APGA members were present. “We want to use this festival to show love to the disabled, the orphans, the widows, and less-privilege with a view to touching their lives positively. In as much as it’s not political, we can equally take some critical political decisions that will be of benefit to the entirety of Ucha chiefdom”. Boga Abuul explained.
On his part, the Special Guest of Honour, former Commissioner for Works, Transport, Education and later Agriculture and Natural resources who is also the candidate of SDP for  Ukum at the Benue State House of Assembly, Benjamin Ashaver expressed gratitude to Ucha people for their show of love for him in spite of challenges and other options and promised to reciprocate this support by moblizing his Torov people to equally support his friend Udende in the 2019 National Assembly Election.
Highlight of the occasion was the showcase of Tiv cultural values and traditions as well as performers of various dance groups such as Mami wata, Kpatema, Gbasela as well as various churches with different dance groups.
Other speakers at the event includes PDP and APC stakeholders, Traditional rulers which included, Utambe Nyagba, Mue Ter Ucha, Teran Kwaghbo, and Simone Vembela Districk heads of Lumbur and Tsaav and all the Clan heads.
