Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Tuesday said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is determined to win Saturday’s Edo State governorship election.

Ganduje, who is chairman of APC Gubernatorial Election Council, made the remarks while reacting to the debate organized by Channels Television between Godwin Obaseki, Edo State governor and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, and Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC candidate, on Sunday.

A statement signed by Abba Anwar, Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, and made available to newsmen in Benin City, said the party is determined to reclaim the state from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

While commending the APC candidate for a good outing at the debate, he said the trend and manner at which the debate went shows that APC is in top gear and determined to win the election.

He said what transpired at a gubernatorial debate organised by Channels Television and other stakeholders between Ize-Iyamu and Obaseki shows that APC’s campaign is issue-based.

“In all the areas discussed during the debate, it appears to all that our great party, APC, is ready to take Edo State to higher levels. Our programmes in the areas of security, education, health and all other areas show that our party is determined to better the living condition of Edo people,” he said.

He assured that with the superlative performance of the party’s candidate at the debate, Edo people will be saved from the clutches of underdevelopment and retardation.
