The Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade has finally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), dumping his party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ayade’s defection was formalised with a visit to the Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai-Mala Buni.
Mamman Mohammed , Director General Press and Media to Yobe Governor disclosed this in a short statement made available to journalists in Abuja.
“Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, today received Cross River state Governor Dr. Ben Ayade who joined the APC from the Peoples Democratic party” the statement read.
With the defection of Ayade, APC now has at least a Governor from the South-South geopolitical zone.
