APC’s Oyebamiji urges residents to ignore violence rumours, protect PVCs

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Osun State, on Wednesday, urged residents to ignore rumours of violence ahead of the August 15, 2026 Governorship election, assuring them that they would be able to vote without intimidation.

Oyebamiji gave the assurance during his campaign tour of Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, where he said no individual or group would be allowed to harass eligible voters.

“I am assuring you that no one can intimidate or harass you from participating in the poll. Any thug or hoodlum caught harassing people will be severely dealt with by security operatives”, he said.

He also called on residents, particularly those who recently registered, to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on time and keep them safe, urging them to liaise with APC officials at the Local Government level to facilitate the collection process.

According to Oyebamiji, the PVC remains the electorate’s power and licence to participate in the election, warning voters against selling their cards.

“Once you get it, don’t sell it. It is your power and licence to take part in the August 15 election”, he said.

Oyebamiji pledged that his Administration would not discriminate against any part of the State if elected governor, saying his manifesto was designed to address the needs of every sector and ensure balanced development across Osun State.

“For the rural areas, our focus is to use agriculture to develop your economy and provide basic infrastructure that will encourage farmers and reduce hunger among the populace of the state. I will ensure that health, education and commerce get all the necessary attention”, he added.
