The AMBO Media Fronts, the media organisation of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governorship candidate in Osun State, has dismissed the rumour being circulated suggesting that President Bola Tinubu has entered into an agreement with Governor Ademola Adeleke to support his re-election bid in the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship election, describing the claim as mischievous and unfounded.

‎In a statement issued by Adebayo Adedeji, ithe Coordinator of the Group, said the rumour being peddled by individuals linked to the state government was a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and rebuild what it termed a failing image.

‎According to him, President Tinubu does not believe in the leadership capacity of Adeleke, hence the reason for rejecting his overtures to defect to APC last year. President Tinubu does not tolerate and feel at home with politicians who prioritize their stomach over the well-being of the people they lead. Adeleke does not meet Mr President’s standard of a good leader. President Tinubu detests a leader whose record on transparency and accountability is warped and unbecoming like that of Governor Adeleke.

‎Drawing a comparison between Adeleke and the APC Governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, the AMBO media described Oyebamiji as an experienced and credible administrator, in contrast to Adeleke, whom he portrayed as unfit for another term in office.

‎He further argued that it would be unreasonable for the President to abandon a loyal party member like Oyebamiji—who previously served as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and recorded significant improvements in safety and revenue—for an administration he accused of poor resource management.

‎The Group also faulted the Adeleke Administration’s handling of key sectors such as education, agriculture, and infrastructure, alleging a lack of synergy with the Federal Government, stating that this disconnect has affected the execution and utilisation of Federal projects in the State.

‎Among the projects cited were the Child and Mother Care Hospital in Osogbo, which the Group said had remained incomplete for years, as well as the 80-bed SDG Hospital in Ipetumodu and the Skills Acquisition Centre in Iragbiji, both described as abandoned.

‎Adedeji also pointed to the Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo, facilitated by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, which it claimed has yet to be fully utilized since its inauguration in December 2024.

‎He said, “these deliberate acts of neglect, which many believe are to stifle the federal government presence in the state and create negative media for the APC government during electioneering, cannot earn Governor Adeleke any goodwill from a progressive leader like President Tinubu, who is committed to national development and good governance.”

‎Reaffirming its position, the AMBO Media Fronts stated that President Tinubu recognises Oyebamiji’s capacity to drive development in Osun State.

‎Adedeji added, “We therefore call on Governor Adeleke and his associates to desist from dragging the name of Mr President into their political propaganda. If they seek re-election, they should present their scorecard to the people of Osun State and allow voters to make an informed decision. President Tinubu’s philosophy on leadership is profound, at variance with Adeleke ‘s chop-and-chop creed. Adeleke is a NO-NO for a welfarist leader like Jagaban Borgu.”
