A member of the House of Representatives, Kolawole Lawal has defected from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lawal who is representing Egbado South and Ipokia Federal Constituency of Ogun State announced his defection on the floor of the House on Tuesday in a letter to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila. Untill his defection, Lawal was the only House of Representative member of the party APM.
According to the letter read by the Speaker, the lawmaker cited factionalization in his party as the reason he was dumping the party.
This is coming barely a week after two members of the House of Representatives, Ephraim Nwuzi from Rivers State and David Abel from Taraba State defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
Nwuzi and Abel stated that their decision to dump PDP for APC was informed by the charismatic and purposeful leadership of the Speaker, Gbajabiamila.
