Heightened activity was recorded at the Labour Party national secretariat as the race for the party’s elective tickets gathered pace. Aspirants from the northern and southern regions visited the secretariat to obtain nomination forms for various positions.

​Labaran Maku, ​the former minister of Information, is among the prominent aspirants who collected forms today, seeking the seat for Nasarawa North Senatorial District. He was joined by Senator Ishaku Abbo, who is contesting the Adamawa State governorship, and Emmanuel Ben, an aspirant for the Akwa Ibom State governorship.

​Other contenders include Adamu Bako Blanzou for the Akwanga North/Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency and Hon. Jesse James Ayenajeh for the Toto Federal Constituency in Nasarawa State. Hon. Chidiebere Darlington Anyanwu also obtained forms for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency in Imo State.

​Addressing journalists after receiving his forms, Labaran Maku praised the transparency of the nomination process. He expressed strong confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that the Labour Party has secured the support of Nigerians. Maku noted that the party is well-positioned to emerge victorious in the general elections, particularly in Nasarawa State.

​Similarly, Ishaku Abbo commended the party’s growing momentum. He praised National Chairman Nenadi Usman for providing leadership that has revitalised and repositioned the organisation. Abbo remains optimistic about the party’s chances in Adamawa State and across the North-East region.
