While its potential benefits are evident, a critical examination of the challenges and opportunities surrounding its implementation is essential to ensure its success and maximise its impact on the nation’s youth.

From a wide range of research, “Dual education”, often referred to as vocational education or apprenticeship training, embodies a holistic approach to learning by integrating classroom instruction with practical work experience. This model not only equips students with theoretical knowledge but also cultivates essential hands-on skills crucial for success in today’s competitive job market. However, the journey toward establishing effective dual education programmes in Nigeria is not without its hurdles.

One of the primary obstacles hindering the widespread adoption of dual education is the lack of adequate infrastructure and resources. Addressing these infrastructure deficiencies requires significant investment from both the public and private sectors to modernise facilities, upgrade equipment, and enhance the overall learning environment.

Overcoming this stigma necessitates a concerted effort to raise awareness about the value of technical skills and the diverse career opportunities available through vocational training.
