If your dream doesn’t scare you, then it’s not big enough

Sometimes we get scared of what we think we might be in life or turn out to be. Sometimes we feel like our dreams are too big. We feel we are too small or too insignificant to really carry out those big plans we have. We feel those plans and dreams are too enormous for “a person like me” It seems like that dream is unattainable. But then, if your dream doesn’t scare you, then your dream is not big enough. At some time in our life, people may have looked down on us. People may have called us names and said that we aren’t good enough. But then, that’s no excuse not to carry out ones plans or dreams. It’s important to note that even a good excuse is still an excuse. So then, let’s not limit ourselves to what others think of us. You shouldn’t limit yourself to what others expect you to be. You have a right to be happy. Once, a teacher gave an assignment to her students to find out what they want to be in future. One of the students came back, saying “I want to be happy” and the teacher sent him home to re-do the assignment. He brought it back still saying, “I just want to be happy” and the teacher said “you don’t get the assignment” and he replied “No, you don’t get the question”.

Many at times, we live other people’s dreams. We don’t live out ours. In the process we may just never be happy in life. We should endeavour to see that we are living out our dreams. Dreaming, goes beyond sitting down, closing your eyes and seeing yourself owning a multimillion naira company and driving the most expensive car. That could be a mere imagination. Dream involves where your talent lies, where your strength lies, setting short term and long term goals, fleeing from every form of distraction and most of all working tirelessly towards achieving your dreams. Most importantly, it’s vital to note that praying is what counts the most. Just pray and ask God to open your eyes to see what he wants you to do. Once you have seen the direction God wants you to go, then you won’t have to struggle in life anymore. There are so many entrepreneurs, so many fashion designers, so many make-up artists, so many businesses but how many of them last in that particular field? Don’t you wonder why many businesses crumble while some others make it even bigger than others that put in much effort and much money? That’s simply because they discovered God’s plan for them, and have therefore worked towards it. This boils down to the fact that whatever dreams we have let’s get God actively involved in it. No dream can be realized if we don’t get God actively involved in it.

It’s important to note that there will be distractions along the way; it can come in different forms but we need to be wise. Some people come into our lives as blessings while others come to derail us from achieving our big dreams. We therefore need to be careful about those we welcome into our lives and those we share our big dreams with.
