The People’s Democratic Party in Lagos State has expressed reservations over the conduct of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election in the state.

The Director General of Atiku Abubakar’s campaign organisation and former chairman of the party in the state, Tunji Shelle, condemned the violence which characterised the election in several parts of Lagos state, warning that such incidents could affect voters turnout in subsequent elections.

Shelle faulted the Independent National Electoral from Commission (INEC) for delaying the announcement of results in three Local Government Areas in the state which according to him are strongholds of the party.

He, however, commended Nigerians for coming out massively to vote in in the election.

“You can see the massive turn out its shows that Nigerians wanted change. However, we are not happy with the violence of Saturday; it can discourage voters in next election,” he noted.

“We wonder why INEC is delaying the results for Etiosa, Amuwo-Odofin and Alimosho. These are our normal stronghold.”
