Jimi Agbaje laud US, UK stand on the 2019 elections

The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, has lauded the United Kingdom and the United States for its tough stands on the conduct of the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.

The United States and United Kingdom, in a recent separate statements on the 2019 general elections, threatened a travel ban on individuals, their family and groups who interferes in the democratic process or instigates violence during the general elections.

In a statement by the spokesperson of Agbaje gubernatorial campaign organisation, Modupe Ogunbayo, its stated that the statement of both nations would serve as a warning to politicians in the country who are planning to subvert the will of Nigerians.

Agbaje added that the strong resolve of UK and US with other helpful nations in the forthcoming general elections would aid the PDP in freeing Lagos, and instituting policies that would transform the state and the lives of its residents.

According to the statement “This is especially needful in Lagos where supporters and entities associated with Jimi Agbaje, is frequently subjected to harassment and intimidation tactics by the leading opposition party in the state.

“Our teeming supporters will be no doubt, buoyed by the encouraging words and definite actions of the Western nations in restraining the leading opposition party in Lagos who wants to turn Lagos to their personal estate.

“The strong resolve of UK and US with other helpful nations in this election will certainly assist the PDP in freeing Lagos and re-anchoring the state on liveability, economy and planning for the future ratios.”
