Guber Polls: PDP lawmaker accuses APC of ballot box snatching

The member representing Ethiope-East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, on Saturday accused the All Progressives Congress of alleged ballot box snatching in the state.

Hon Ivwurie, who is also the PDP House of Assembly candidate, cried out that suspected thugs allegedly belonging to the APC have snatched the ballot papers belonging to Unit 2, Ward 6 in Otorho-Abraka Community where the APC governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru, come from.

The lawmaker raised the alarm shortly after casting his votes at Unit 6 ,Ward 2 in Erho Primary School, Abraka.

Hon. Ivwurie said the election process in Otorho-Abraka Community wass not peaceful, calling for an outright cancellation of the entire results in the polling units.

He said, “Thugs snatched and thumbprinted the ballot papers without the use of card readers and I will want to call for the outright cancellation of those votes coming from that area.”

Hon. Ivwurie however, said the election at his polling units (Unit 6)went on peacefully and orderly without any form of molestation and intimidation unlike what obtained during the Presidential & National Assembly elections.

Accreditation and voting commenced simultaneously at Unit 6 & 7 Ward 2 in Erho Primary School in Abraka Community.

The Independent National Electoral Commission Presiding Officer for Unit 7 Arhirhie .E. Oruese confirmed this to newsmen.
