Ganduje, 27 elected House of Assembly members gets certificate of returns in Kano

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, says his new administration which takes effect on May 29th, would place emphasis on the development of the huge human capital existing in the state, as well as making the state a viable investment destination.

In order to achieve this goals, the governor disclosed that the incoming administration would step –up investment in public education sector, in addition to strengthening investment in providing adequate social infrastructure to boost economic activities.

He made this disclosure on Wednesday, when the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented certificate of return to him and his deputy Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as well as 27 All Progressive Congress (APC) out of the 40 elected members of the state assembly.

13 members of the Kano State Assembly elect under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were, however, conspicuously absent during the ceremony held at the indoor sports hall of Sani Abacha stadium.

In his address, after been presentation of his certificates of returns, the INEC national commissioner in charge of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states, Engr. Abubakar Nahuche, Governor Ganduje revealed that his new administration would be implementing a new 16 year development plan for the state.

Also, he stated that as part of his new administration to the industrial development of the state, plans is in place to provide free land for investors who are interested in establishing new manufacturing plants in the state.

In the same vein, the governor said the new administration will also embarked on the implementation of free education from primary to secondary to levels, as a way of boosting school enrollment in the state.

Speaking before the presentation of the Certificates to the newly elected political leaders, Abubakar Nahuche, the national INEC commissioner, charged politicians in the country to always imbibe spirit of sportsmanship and eschew a do or die politics.

Nahuche, congratulated the new leaders for coming top in the concluded election, saying the outcome of the election was a true reflection of democracy which shows that Nigerian democracy has significantly developed.
