“Election postponement shouldn’t be a norm” -Ghani

inec-chairman
An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain in Bauchi State, Hameed Sa’idu Ghani has disclosed that, postponement of elections should be an exception than a norm in Nigeria.
Ghani made the assertion in Bauchi Saturday while speaking on the postponement of the Presidential, National Assembly as well as the Governorship and State House of Assemblies elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (NYSC).
” It was done in 2015 and there was an outcry. Why should it be done now? Although they have.given their reasons which is true in a way. But I still blame them.
“INEC should have made sure that, all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials or over 90 percent of the materials have arrived the states at least 72 hours before the day of the elections.
“If they have done that, we wouldn’t have been in this situation. Many people travelled from far places for the elections. Most of these people may not come back for the elections. So, the postponement is not expected at all and many Nigerians are disappointed,”he said.
