A State High Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to conduct the governorship supplementary election pending the determination of a counter affidavit filed by INEC challenging the statutory jurisdiction of the court to entertain a post-election matter.
The order was given by Justice Abdulaaziz Waziri.
Adamawa is one of the six states where INEC declared the March 9 governorship elections inconclusive. The others are Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto States. The electoral body plans to conduct supplementary governorship elections in the six states on Saturday
