Buhari cancels campaigns in Kwara, holds Abuja town hall meeting

President Muhamamdu Buhari has shelved his planned trip to Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital for the Presidential campaign.

BusinessDay gathered from the Presidential Villa, that the President who was scheduled to proceed to Ilorin after participating in the All Progressive Congress APC, Presidential campaign in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital on Wednesday, shelved the idea, at the last minute.

A source close to the Presidential CampaignCouncil , PCC, told BusinessDay that the decision may not be unconnected to the banning of street campaigns in Ilorin, the State Capital by the Kwara state government.

Instead of the Kwara campaign, the President and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are expected to attend a town hall meeting at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Abuja.

Both the President and the Vice President are expected to use the opportunity to discuss their programs to the electorates ahead of the February 16th, 2019, Presidential election.
The event, scheduled for 8.00PM, is expected to last until 10.00pm.
