Appeal Court sitting in Abuja, Thursday, sacked Prof. Jerry Gana as the Social Democratic Party presidential candidate, while reinstating former Cross River State, Donald Duke as the authentic candidate of the party
In a unanimous decision by a three-man panel, led by Justice Abdul Aboki, the court set aside the December 14, 2018 judgment of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which had declared Gana the candidate of the party.
Recall, the trial court had sacked Duke for lack of adhering to the principle of even distribution of offices in the party, declaring that as the chairman of the party is from the south, its presidential candidate cannot also come from the same zone.
