President Muhamamdu Buhari will any moment from now be announced winner of the 2019 Presidential election in Nigeria.
This followed the higher votes the President has so far recorded from the just concluded Presidential election, as results collated and announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, show his is clearly ahead of his opponents, especially the main opposition challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This is despite several controversies trailing the results so far collated and announced by the INEC, as shown by protests against the results across the country.
Businessday sources at the Presidential Villa gathered that Presidential aides were on standby late last night as the President was expected to proceed to the APC Presidential Campaign Council office at the central area, Abuja to read his acceptance speech , as soon as he is declared winner, no matter how late.
“ We are all on ground, ready to proceed to the APC Presidential campaign office for the acceptance speech of Mr. President if and once he is declared. But the is for INEC to do. Ours is to be prepared” , said one of his aides who did not want his name in print.
When reminded of some of the controversies trailing the results, the President’s aide simply noted that “ Like l said, ours is to be prepared and as l speak, the President’s acceptance speech is ready”
