2019 Election: Buhari assures Nigerians of prudent  management of resources

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday assured Nigerians that his administration will prudently manage the resources of the nation to boost the economy.

Buhari who spoke at an APC rally held at the Warri Township Stadium, Delta State, appealed to Nigerians not to lose faith in the party saying the party had fulfilled most of the promises it made to Nigerians in 2015

He assured Nigerians of his commitment to providing good and qualitative leadership to the people.

The president said his administration would continue to work towards the protection of lives and properties as well as the unity of the nation.

Buhari who Addressed the mammoth crowd at the Warri township stadium, said the programmes on the development of the Niger Delta would be taken more seriously.

Buhari who had earlier visited the Olu of Warri Ogiame Ikenwoli in his palace said his 2015 manifestoes was still relevant.

“Since 1978 to 1979 when I was the Minister of Petroleum Resources, I have never lost interest in the Petroleum Industry because I know it is the nation’s asset.

” I am trying to remind you to please reflect very seriously where we were in 2015 when we came and were we are today and what we have been able to do with the resources available to us.

“I assure you of this leadership interest in serving Nigeria and making the people to live together and work for our nation.

The National Chairman of APC, Mr Adams Oshiomhole thanked president Buhari for his infrastructural development particularly in the South South region.

He urged the president to probe the $16 billion US Dollar allegedly invested in the power sector by the previous administrations.

“As a leader with integrity, you have kept your promises to the people of the South South and indeed Nigeria.

“Delta is the economic hub of Nigeria and you have done a lot of infrastructural projects including the ongoing dredging of the Escravos channel to open up the Warri ports,” he said.

Oshiomhole urged the APC faithfuls to be mindful of other political parties supporters who may try to deceive and woo them to their parties.

Also speaking, the Delta APC governorship candidate, Mr Great Ogboru thanked the president and described him as “father of many nations.”

Ogboru commended the president for his anti-corruption drive adding that the gesture had earned him a good name at the international level.

“The gathering of the eloquent people of Delta is because of what you have done for. You deserved to be called the father of the nation, the general of the generals,” he said.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu said President Buhari has ordered the dredging of the Warri River which is ongoing, appealing to Deltans to vote for him for the good things he has done for the Niger Delta region.

Earlier in his opening remark, the APC chairman in Delta, Hon Jones Erue said the mammoth crowd was a clear demonstration of the peoples readiness to re-elect Buhari and also end the 20 years reign of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

“We are ready to vote in Buhari as president and also vote Ogboru as Delta governor and other APC candidates in the state,” he said.
