Abba Yusuf, the governor of Kano State has relieved Alhaji Shehu Sagagi of his appointment as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry with immediate effect.

This is coming days after the governor warned political appointees and government officials against leaking confidential government information to individuals outside the administration.

The dismissal was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa.

According to the statement, Sagagi has been directed to hand over the affairs of the ministry to the Director of Commerce pending further directives from the state government.

While announcing the decision, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for the services rendered by the former commissioner during his tenure.

The governor acknowledged Sagagi’s contributions to the development of the state, particularly in the areas of politics, religious engagement and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.

He also wished the former commissioner success in his future endeavours while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery, discipline within government, and good governance in Kano State.
