Hashimu Argungu, a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police and Chairman, Nigeria Police Service Commission on Thursday urged the newly recruited Police Constables to work with other Security Agencies in order to reduce crimes and criminality in Nigeria.
He made this known during Police graduation of 212 Constables in the Zone 12, comprising Bauchi and Gombe States, which was held at the Police Training Dchool, Yelwa in Bauchi State.
Argungu, who was represented by the Police Service Commission Procurement Officer, Ahmed Aliyu, urged the new officers to make sure that they make Nigeria proud, pledging that the Commission would continue to support them in their career progression to be predictable with the establishment of the rules and regulations.
“I believe you are with the Constitutional Mandate of the Commission which is provided in section 153 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.The police Service Commission is vested with the powers to appoint which include of recruitment, enlistment, to promote and to dismissed and exercise disciplinary control over members of the Nigeria Police Force except the Inspector General of Police.
“There is need to remind you that our nation’s has a lot of security challenges of banditry, kidnapping, arm robbery and terrorism among others”, he said..
