Two persons have reportedly lost their lives in an accident that happened on Ikpoba Hill road in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State.
The accident, it was gathered, occurred in the wee hours of Monday, when a vehicle en route from ring road to Ikpoba hill axis, lost control, hit the pavement, skidded off the road and subsequently plunged into Ikpoba hill river.
It was learnt that the deceased were brought out of the river dead.
Following the accident, there was traffic congestion in the area as commuters plying the route were left stranded for many hours in the early part of Monday morning.

Paul Okpe, Edo State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), told BusinessDay that two persons, including a male and a female lost their lives in the accident.
He added that the bodies of the deceased had been deposited in a mortuary at a nearby hospital.
According to him, “From what we gathered, the accident happened at 3am on Monday. We discovered early this morning that an Audi 80 car plunged into the river and when we got the information, we mobilised our men and informed of personnel of the Edo State Traffic Control and Management Agency (EDSTMA) to control the traffic.”
