The value of Nigeria’s event planning industry has been put at $20 b.
Bisi Sotunde, the CEO of Busy Bee event firm said this industry can be deepened with more value if the federal and state governments partner with the players in the industry to push Nigeria positives in different ways.

For instance, she told BusinessDay that Nigeria has a lot of sites people, including foreigners can explore for relaxations and events.
She said if governments either at the federal or state levels partners with the industry, “we can invite foreigners and locals to visit our beautiful sites where they can relax or use as events outside their homes”.
She said her company has been inviting people, especially foreigners to visit Nigerian sites and they go with positive minds, thereby putting Nigeria on global map. But this can be done on a bigger scale to achieve bigger result.
Speaking on her forthcoming Event Business summit, with the theme: Tech in Event Business; The new narrative’ scheduled for November 21 in Lagos, she said the objective is to address the importance of technology in event management as the tech has equally revolutionalised other industries.

” The importance of technology in event business cannot be over emphasised. We have seen technology drive growth in the financial space, education sector, commerce and industry and this can be replicated in the event industry” , she said.
