The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 73-member Central Coordination Committee for its 2026 National Convention, appointing Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), as Chairman.
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) was named Vice Chairman of the committee, while Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State, will serve as Secretary.
The committee, approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), is tasked with overseeing the planning, coordination and conduct of the APC’s nationwide congresses and national convention slated for March 2026.
A statement issued by the party and signed by Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary, said details of the inauguration of the committee would be announced in due course.
Alongside the constitution of the committee, the APC released an adjusted timetable for its ward, local government, state, zonal congresses and the national convention, in line with provisions of the party’s constitution.
According to the schedule, membership e-registration will commence on Saturday, January 31 and end on Sunday, February 8, 2026, while ward congresses are slated for Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Local government congresses will follow on Saturday, February 21.
State congresses are scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, while zonal congresses across the six geo-political zones will hold on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The APC National Convention is billed for Friday, March 27 to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The party also outlined the venues for zonal congresses, with Ibadan hosting the South-West, Enugu for the South-East, Rivers/Cross River for the South-South, Kaduna for the North-West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North-East, and Nasarawa for the North-Central.
The APC further released the cost of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for aspirants seeking party offices at all levels.
At the ward level, Expression of Interest forms cost N5,000, while nomination forms range from N15,000 to N20,000. For local government offices, Expression of Interest is pegged at N10,000, with nomination fees rising to N100,000 for chairmanship positions.
State chairmanship nomination forms cost N1 million, while other state executive positions attract N500,000.
At the national level, aspirants for the position of national chairman are required to pay N10 million, while nomination forms for other national offices range between N5 million and N7.5 million.
The party, however, granted concessions to female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities, who are required to pay only the Expression of Interest fee and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fee.
The APC noted that Ekiti, Osun, Rivers states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from ward, local government and state congresses but will participate in the election of three delegates each to the national convention.
It also clarified that all forms will be filled online, with access granted only after verification of payments and validation by the party’s national secretariat.
Payments are to be made directly into the APC’s designated accounts with Zenith Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA).
