UBA upgrades mobile app to ease customers’ banking

UBA mulls rights issue, private placement to meet capital requirements

The United Bank for Africa Plc, (UBA), a multinational financial company has upgraded its mobile banking application, with a transaction dispute feature and other solutions to ease customer banking.

This was disclosed in a statement by the bank on Thursday saying the transaction dispute menu feature on the mobile app would help customers report any failed transactions from the mobile app’s home page.

“Disputed transactions have been a major challenge that makes customers flock to the banking hall despite having digital apps. A new addition is the Extended Transaction History feature, which enables customers to view and access up to six months of their transaction history, an Enhanced PIN Pad, with size adjustments tailored specifically for smartphones,” the statement said.

It added that the upgraded mobile app enhanced security by introducing increased security measures that protect customers’ financial transactions.

Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking said the upgrade of the mobile banking app shows the bank’s commitment to providing solutions that align with the evolving needs of its customers.

“Our goal is to ensure that banking with UBA remains seamless, secure, and intuitive, and these new features represent a significant step in achieving that objective. By placing greater control and flexibility in the hands of our customers, we are empowering them to bank on their terms, anytime, anywhere,” he said.

Olukayode Olubiyi, Head of Digital Banking expressed his excitement about the upgrades made to the mobile banking app.

“By extending the transaction history window, enhancing the PIN pad for smartphone users, bolstering security measures and the additional features, we are empowering our customers to take greater control of their financial journeys,” he said.
