Tinubu writes Senate to confirm Musa Aliyu as ICPC chair

President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting the speedy confirmation of Musa Adamu Aliyu as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The letter was read during plenary on Wednesday by Barau Jibrin, the deputy Senate president.

The President’s letter states that the appointment of Aliyu as Chairman of the ICPC complies with the provisions of Section 3 subsection 6 of the ICPC Act 2000. Tinubu requested that the Senate give the appointment expeditious consideration.

In addition, Tinubu also wrote to the Senate seeking confirmation for the appointment of two members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
The nominated members are Saka Bolaji Suleiman and Gaji Dantata.

The President stated that the nominations were made to fill the vacancies within the commission, which were caused by the death of a member and the upcoming expiration of the tenure of another member.
